Father Earth Organic Farm is a small 2-acre farm in Lafayette Colorado. We are a grower of organic fruits, vegetables, flowers and herbs. We rely heavily upon dedicated, reliable and dependable volunteers who align themselves with our sustainable organic methods of growing food for our community. We provide food for two farmer's markets as well as a small CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) farm share, and also for some local restaurants. Because of our diversity here on the farm, volunteers have the opportunity to engage in learning different growing methods, weeding and insect control, composting, maintenance and repair of equipment and infrastructure, bee keeping, and of course, how to organically grow many varieties of fruits, vegetables, flowers and herbs.

Help is needed from March 1st to October 31st. We ask all volunteers to commit to a minimum of two months during this timeframe, working a minimum of four hours a week. In exchange for every four hours of work, you will receive the equivalent of a CSA share (whatever is available for harvest at that time).

Job tasks will involve every aspect of food production, to include ground preparation, planting seeds, transplanting seedlings, cultivating, weeding, watering, harvesting, and preparation of produce for markets and customers. You may be asked to perform physically demanding and repetitive tasks ranging from pulling/pushing wagons/carts loaded with vegetables/produce, to digging holes for tree planting. You may also be asked to work in varied kinds of weather. However, we do try to work inside on cold days if there is work to do inside. On days forecast to be 80 degrees or above, we start as early as 7:00 am.

We seek individuals with a good sense of humor who enjoy working hard, and who are excited to learn how plants grow and how to care for plants. We want people who are responsible, dependable and flexible. You must be able to clearly follow instructions, and not be afraid to ask questions or be afraid to make mistakes. We seek people who are able to work independently, as well as with others comfortably. Clear verbal communication is a must.

Because we work very closely with each other and with our customers, good personal hygiene is essential. People who smoke or use tobacco products need not apply as contact with nicotine adversely affect some plants. At the discretion of the owner, piercings may need to be removed and tattoos covered when working with customers.

Call Frank at 303-494-4500 or 720-849-3484. Thanks!
